It's not completely impossible - just unlikely. We've had close calls with nuclear power, for instance. Nuclear power isn't a technology that's truly 100% under our control. Artificial intelligence would most certainly be; just pull the plug or switch it off if it starts to do something dangerous. "Dangerous toys are fun, but you could get hurt!" |
