Since Jade brought of the fact that Square-Enix has been in a bit of a slump recently (ever since FF9, in my opinion...), has anyone around here played any of the star ocean games? I picked up the most recent one a few months back, and I was wondering if anyone else had played it.

Yes! Why is it that Star Ocean is so under-rated? It outclasses Final Fantasy in a lot of way, IMHO. The blue sky is infinitely high, crystal clear...that's what the world should be...a world of infinite possibilities, laid before us, crystal clear" |

I haven't had the opportunity to play Star Ocean 3 (I have too many unfinished RPGs as it is) but I played Star Ocean 2 (one of the unfinished RPGs, unfortunately) and it rocked. So long as you had the TV on mute. The voice acting was just awful. I remember I bought it about the same time I bought All Killer no Filler by Sum 41, so I just listened to that instead.
