Thread  RSS Oranges - a fuel not just for Virulyde anymore

Apparently they've found a way to extract a hydrogen-rich gas from orange peels.

It's not completed yet - it's just a wild idea they've got. If successful, it could provide a clean way to produce the hydrogen gas needed for fuel cells.

Right now, the big problem with hydrogen power is that producing it requires some other form of energy. Burning coal or using nuclear power sort of defeats the purpose of using hydrogen in the first place. Which bums me out, since I was hoping to drive a hydrogen or solar powered car (or a hybrid of both!) sometime in the future

Anywho, I hope they can make the orange peels idea work I'll be glad to pitch in and drink more OJ so that they can get more peels to use.
