On the dream, I've had dreams like that, though a little different. Instead of the internet, I had to use some old phone because all of the phones in the house were broken and I couldn't reach anybody even on the phones that did work. Like everybody's phones were suddenly broken.

If an EMP attack happened suddenly, the situation wouldn't be far from that.

Pretty much all phones and the Internet would be down.
