Kyler, I just upgraded my computer, which, oddly, is what necessitated the software upgrade for the music stuff (the upgrade itself was for Adobe Creative Suite so I could use more RAM) so I'm good in the CPU and RAM department.
Codewarrior (I still keep wanting to call you Lynx), unfortunately it looks like Cakewalk is limited to VST and DirectX plugins.

It appears Cakewalk comes with some synths, including the TTS-1 (which I hadn't realized was a synth until just now) and some drum kits.

Just a thought but it would be cool if you used live instruments (like guitar) for some more of your tracks.
Now that you have a proper recording software package that should be a little easier for you.
