I doubt very much that Facebook would knowingly defraud people for advertising money without getting caught.
They have plausible deniability. Still, I find it unlikely that they aren't aware that the majority of "likes" on paid advertising come from puppet accounts. You referenced Occam's razor here but I would argue that Occam's razor would leave us with the explanation that Facebook is aware and allowing the fraudulent ad impressions. Whether or not they set up the fake accounts isn't my point.

I'm sorry that you're paranoid, Wolfwood. As someone with a degree in psychology I would recommend that you talk to a professional if your world view is skewed in such a way. There is treatment available.
I'm beginning to become skeptical of cynicism.
