I could see flip phones being tempting to throw because they would be shaped a little like boomerangs. (CodeWarrior is gonna kill me)

No, they don't throw flip phones just because they're boomerang-shaped. They throw them so that their pet kangaroos will fetch them and store them in their pouches. Did you know that kangaroo pouches have USB chargers built in? No? That's because I lied.

Although I'm sure we could science that into existence.
