Years ago, Google Talk supported Jabber protocol but that all went by the wayside. Google really changed a lot since then.
I'd like to see more open systems like Jabber used across different services but, sadly, every company seems to want to put people in their own walled gardens.

Well no one's really using either one of these except me and even I haven't been logging in much since there's no one else.
It's fine.
EDIT: I went ahead and disabled these since no one was using them.
