I got a call yesterday from an advertising area code, and the lady just said "It's rising up", breathed deeply, and hung up. Odd, huh?

I've received many calls from advertising area codes recently, and they just hang up on me when I answer. I wonder if the goal is to see who will answer their phone and hound them with advertisements later?

We are inundated with telemarketer calls all the time. In fact, the backlog of phone messages is so unmanageable at this point that I have to set aside about a half hour every week just to sift through them to see if there's anything important.

Because of this, we use a different number for critical business. I have skipped over some important messages for as much as six months because they were buried in the junk calls.
