Thread RSS Ongoing album

Aye ya'll! I'm an amateur random dude who's working on an album right now, kinda as a bit of a passion project, I guess, but it's more so me just screwing around with effects and seeing if anything sticks. Been working on it since October 2020, re-done all the audio twice so far, learning how to better treat the audio.

The first few tracks is mostly me playing around with what my mate Lopyt calls granular synthesis - it's me just enlongating samples and then editing them slightly. Stuff like 12x and 16x stretches. ("Type 9" [1] to "Sewer" [5])

Next couple of tracks, I started to play with reverb as well as risset drums. Risset drums are generated sounds that are kinda like bells tbh ("Space" [6] to "Ship" [11])

A few tracks after, I started heavily using reverb and echo effects as well as the spectogram audio generator and sounds that just are interesting to create alien and forlorn vibes. Furthermore, I've started using filter equalizers. ("Alert." [12] to ongoing)

My favorite one of all of these is "Space", track 6. It reminds me heavily of the Moon Silence/Madness track in Tanki Online.

I'm really just trying to have fun.

I'm also on Nitrocosm's Discord server.

I listen to a lot of different music.

These sounds remind me of things I've heard while "sleeping"...

They are calming. It would be nice to have all of these on an album to hear at night.

The album is kinda an experimental thing and it's probably only gonna be a digital release on YouTube and Soundcloud, and the tracks are kinda representative of my often disturbed mindstate. I'm glad you like them! It's still in progress; I'm gunning for 2 hours with K.O.T.T.

K.O.T.T. got its name from a lyric in "Vampires" by Radiorama. Also thought it was funny because the album cover has the French Revolution's kinda motto, and a "King" during "The Terrors" (Maximilien Robespierre). Somehow I stumbled into this?

I listen to a lot of different music.

Hello, Risviltsov! Nice to see new people here. Sorry I've been away a lot.

These albums are kind of soothing. They'd be suitable for horror and scifi films and things, I think!

Made something dope that is similar. It's a soundscape type of album, completely sampling the entire DM The Singles 86 > 98 album.

I listen to a lot of different music.
