Good idea, Miroku. We want the adept phenomenon to return. Its return is a good thing to kick things off.
I had an idea to supplement yours about the space station: The space station is emitting a signal similar to what Duncan and Shell picked up from the sphere on the asteroid. Maybe that's how they believe it's on board.
Something else: What if the space station is not only abandoned, but determined to be millions of years old?

I finally came up with an idea for a new character. I'll play him whenever we start up.
Chester Randolph
Age: 34
Weight: 156
Height: 6'-1"
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Chester is an astronomer who works for Firewall. He's an independent contractor living on Earth but he takes orders from Dr. Camay Thameh directly.
Chester has been busy trying to determine what happened with the sudden disappearance of NEA726. He lives alone in an apartment just down the hall from Shell Lockheed. He knows her as a neighbor but never really speaks to her much.
Whenever we get the story going, Helena suggested that the news is going crazy with reports that the Adept phenomenon has restarted. Either Duncan or Shell will detect an odd radio signal and analyze it. Its signature matches that of the sphere from NEA726.
Chester is going to discover the space station after the group gets in contact with him (how they contact him is TBD) and he meets everyone at his observatory where they get visual confirmation of the station.
I know I'm setting up additional plot here and not just the character.
Sound good?

Man, Nitro, how'd you make that little noise signal? The clicking on it definitely sounds like a geiger counter, but I'm not sure if one (or the sound of one) was remotely involved.

It's from BACORS (Big Ass Collection Of Radio Signals). It was recorded from 22147 kHz, no joke. I don't know the correct date or time of the recording but it was recorded from my shortwave radio some time in 2007 or 2008.
EDIT:
I should add that Duncan's going to be more of a "via remote" character for this chapter. He'll stay in contact with Shell but he's going to be operating primarily from his office for now.
Miroku, feel free to write for Duncan as much as you like.

Somehow, that makes it even more interesting. Actual signal, no audio-w***ery involved. Neat.
