Just saw this.
Any word yet on the cause? I looked through the news and couldn't find a single thing in reference to it. One would think an explosion measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale would be newsworthy.
The USGS confirms this along with the time Helena reported it:

They did! It's gone, now. Usually they do that if it turned out to be a glitch. This time, it clearly wasn't just a glitch. How interesting.

That is quite interesting. Its a surprise that it ended up in the news at all - much less without an official redaction.
