Not everybody's taste preference is fast food

Man, Subway RULES.

12 inch Turkey and Ham on Italian herb and cheese with lots of lettuce, pickles, and cucumbers is my absolute favorite.

Oh, don't forget the bacon. bacon

If my fast food is haunted, it haunts my bowels. That is one ANGRY ghost, too.

Thread necromancy time!

I know I've shared this old story before a long time ago but my family used to go up to Lake Kwokullie in northern British Columbia to a time share my Dad's had for years and years.

This happened when I was a little kid, back in February 1986.

So on our way to the timeshare our car starts having trouble and the engine dies. My Dad manages to flag down some guy in a truck (there's a lot of mining / natural gas operations going on in the area) and he gets out to help with the car (the alternator was having some kind of trouble). He tinkers with it a while and eventually gets it fixed and we're on our way. I remember noticing the guy's truck looked awfully beat up, like it had been in a wreck.

My dad wasn't totally sure what the guy did but the car started up just fine. Apparently there had been a problem with the alternator or electrical system. We're on our way and I guess the guy who helped out drove off pretty fast because when I looked out the back window, he was already gone (presumably far down the road in the opposite direction we were going North. It was cold that time of year so being stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a car that wouldn't run was dangerous (and this was before cell phones, not that they'd work in that location anyway). There aren't exactly a lot of gas stations or phone booths on the access road (yo-yo road, it was called).

After we arrived at the timeshare about a half hour later and unpacked, My dad uses the phone (which thankfully still worked) and calls the authorities because a blizzard was going to hit and we wanted to make sure emergency services would be available where we were, just in case something happened. We had plenty of firewood to stay warm but we were worried about the electricity. The person on the phone said that they were going to send someone up to check something on the house, so we waited for the mountie to arrive.

We waited for a couple hours and the mounties called back. They said there had been a bad truck wreck on yoyo and that the mounties in the area were occupied with that. Someone had run off the road and was killed (there was a steep cliff). The roads had been icy so this was definnitely a risk. They also said we shouldn't attempt to drive until the blizzard conditions would pass in a couple days.

It turned out that the man had run off the road at the exact same spot where our car suddenly stalled and the man in the truck got the car started again. When the mountie finally stopped by the next day, he described the driver and the truck and we were all shocked because it was the exact description of the man who had helped us on the way up.

I remember that story.

Pretty creepy stuff. I don't know why your family wanted to vacation up that far North in such dangerous weather.
